The PHUSE US Connect conference in Orlando, Florida last week proved to be another insightful and fun event, showcasing some great keynote speakers and presentations. As Premier Supporters of PHUSE, it was great to once again meet up with fellow industry leaders and innovators to share, learn and discuss where the bio-pharma space and world of biostatistics is heading.

With so much buzz in the air and an eagerness to connect and share across the conference hall, we took the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations at our stand on the topic of R Programing, ISS/ISE, RWE, and Automation/SCE. Our workshops, posters and presentations expanded upon these topics and it evoked a sense of anticipation about how the industry is changing, especially in the field of Automation and SCE.

Matt Jones, our CEO, took part in a Leadership panel on the topic of Empathy and its relation to effective leadership – a core element of our ethos here at Veramed. Titled, Resilient and Empathic Leadership: Balancing Strategic Decisions and Growth with Empathy, the panel highlighted the importance of employee engagement and how best to tackle strategic changes inspire teams to reach their potential – acting as vital reminder for all 162 companies attending to never underestimate the power of their people.

Topics such as data standards, cloud computing, RWE and Data Management all came to the fore in what has become the new norm at such events such as PHUSE. Our very own Stuart Malcolm, Head of Automation, Standards and Efficiency at Veramed, gave us all a fantastic interactive workshop alongside our industry partners, Domino. Aptly titled, Next-generation Clinical Trials: Technology, People and Processes, the workshop closed out the event and took home the Best in Stream award in Emerging Trends and Technology – stay tuned for online recordings in the coming weeks.

Automation and SCE was on full display at PHUSE US Connect, and there’s an increasing number of vendors in the space that will add further efficiencies to the clinical trial journey, ensuring remedies get to patients even faster. Our Automation service line is a key part of this movement and our strategy going forward, and we’re excited to see how partnerships, such as our work with Domino, can make a difference for both big and small bio-pharma companies.
